When Your Technology Stops,
Your Deadlines Don't

Your firm runs on systems that can't go down
Your practice management system, client files, email, court e-filing, and remote access keep your attorneys and staff moving. When one of them stops working, the filing deadline and the 2:00 closing don't move with it.

And the help you need doesn't come fast enough
You call for IT help and get voicemail, or a callback tomorrow. So you become the person everyone turns to when the technology fails, restarting equipment and chasing vendors instead of practicing law. It's frustrating, and underneath it is a real worry that one bad moment could cost you a client's confidence.

Meanwhile, the quiet risk sits in your inbox
Closings, settlements, and estate matters run on email. Every hour lost to technology problems is billable time you don't get back, and every week without clear answers leaves you wondering whether one compromised email could put a client's confidential information or closing funds at risk.

We believe attorneys should be practicing law, not chasing down IT help.

A Local IT Partner That Understands How a Law Firm Works

We understand how stressful it is when a client is sitting across the table, a deadline is hours away, and your technology picks that exact moment to stop working. That's why Tomorrow's Technology Today has supported businesses across Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana since 2002, including law firms.

A Real Person Answers: Technicians answer the phone live during the business day. No phone tree, no waiting for tomorrow's callback.

We Know How Your Firm Works: Practice management and billing, client files, court e-filing, scanning, and remote access from the courthouse or home. We support the tools your attorneys and staff use every day.

Discreet With Client Confidences: Every TTechT technician, and our founder, is CJIS security-trained and background-checked. Your clients' information is handled by people trained to protect it.

Security Leadership You Can Check: Our founder, Lisa Niekamp-Urwin, wrote Sitting Duck: Why Your Business Is a Cybercriminal's Ideal Target and is past president of InfraGard Toledo.

Switching Without the Disruption: Every new client gets a dedicated project manager through our Great Start onboarding. We coordinate directly with your current provider and plan the transition around your active matters.

Plain English, No Surprise Bills: You'll know what we're doing, why, and what it costs, without needing to become a technology expert.

Local and Woman-Owned: We're based in St. Henry, with an office in Fort Wayne and team members in Lima and Dayton. Recognized with a 2024 MSP Titans of the Industry Award (Women Owned/Led) and by the Lima Chamber as a Women-Owned Business.

Law Firm IT: Frequently Asked Questions

What does a managed IT provider do for a law firm?

A managed IT provider keeps your firm's systems running, secure, and backed up, so your attorneys and staff can focus on clients. That includes help when practice management, client files, or email stop working; security for confidential client information; tested backups; and planning for upgrades and growth.

Do Ohio and Indiana lawyers have a duty to keep up with technology?

Yes. Ohio's Rules of Professional Conduct were amended in 2015 to require lawyers to keep up with the risks and benefits of technology and to make reasonable efforts to protect confidential client information (source). Indiana added similar language to Rule 1.1, effective January 1, 2018 (source). In 2026, Ohio's Board of Professional Conduct also issued nonbinding guidance on using AI ethically (source). We help with the technology side; your obligations are a question for you and your counsel.

What happens if a law firm in Ohio or Indiana has a data breach?

Both states generally require notifying affected residents within 45 days of discovering a breach of personal information, and Indiana also requires notifying its Attorney General (source). ABA Formal Opinion 483 adds an expectation that lawyers notify current clients when their confidential information is compromised (source). The best protection is preventing the breach and having tested backups and a response plan in place before you need them.

How can a law firm protect closings from wire fraud?

Treat any emailed change to wire instructions as suspect, and verify it by phone using a number you already have, never one from the email. Protect firm email with multi-factor authentication, and train staff to recognize fraudulent requests. Criminals often compromise a real mailbox and send fake instructions right before a closing.

Can you help with our cyber insurance application?

Yes. We help firms complete cyber insurance applications and client security questionnaires accurately, based on the security actually in place. Because our insurance partner's program is built around our security services, clients who stay with us may also qualify for a discounted cyber liability policy, with coverage designed so your firm and your IT provider are insured under the same program.

How do we switch IT providers without disrupting active matters?

Plan the switch with a dedicated project manager and a firm cutover date. Our Great Start onboarding runs about 10 weeks, and we coordinate directly with your current provider so systems, accounts, and passwords transfer cleanly. We can time the cutover around trials, closings, or other busy stretches.

Do you work with our practice management software?

We support the practice management, billing, and document systems law firms rely on. We recommend that firms keep an active maintenance agreement with their software vendor, so we can bring the vendor in when an issue needs their help.

How quickly will someone answer when we call?

During the business day, a technician answers the phone live. After hours, our answering service reaches a technician for urgent issues. Guaranteed response times for critical issues depend on your service level.

How much does managed IT cost for a law firm?

Most firms invest $175–$350 per user per month, depending on the number of users, offices, and the level of security and support.

What areas do you serve?

We support law firms across Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana, including St. Henry, Celina, Lima, Wapakoneta, Findlay, Van Wert, Sidney, Piqua, Troy, Tipp City, Anna, Botkins, Fort Loramie, Minster, and Dayton, Ohio, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.
