When a Branch Goes Down or an Exam Is Coming, It Lands on You

Your branches run on systems that can't go down
Teller workstations, branch connections to your core, loan systems, and email keep your staff serving customers. When one of them stops working, customers wait at the counter while you figure out whose problem it is.

And your IT support doesn't speak banking
So you end up chasing the core vendor, the carrier, and your IT provider during an outage. Before every exam, you're pulling patch and backup reports together yourself. It can feel like you're carrying the bank's security on your own shoulders, hoping your answers to the board are right.

Meanwhile, the questions keep coming
Your board expects a clear report on your information security program. Your examiners and auditors expect evidence, not assurances. And every vendor you rely on, including your IT provider, is one more relationship you're expected to manage.

We believe the people who protect a community's money shouldn't have to do it alone or rely on guesswork.

A Local IT Partner That Understands Community Banking

We understand how much rides on you when a branch can't serve customers or an examiner asks for proof that isn't at your fingertips. That's why Tomorrow's Technology Today has supported community banks since 2011.

Serving Community Banks Since 2011: We know how a bank runs, from teller lines and branch connections to exams, audits, and board reporting. You won't have to explain what an examiner is asking for.

Audit Documentation, Ready Before They Ask: When auditors and examiners ask IT and cybersecurity questions, we provide the documentation and proof they request, such as patch management and backup reports. We work with you ahead of time so it's already in place.

Fast Answers When Examiners Ask: When state examiners asked two of our bank clients whether a newly disclosed vulnerability affected them, we responded in 22 minutes and had written confirmation to each bank by the next morning.

Backups Proven, Not Assumed: Every server and workstation backup we manage is restore-tested every other week, with proof captured. When someone asks whether you could recover, you'll have evidence.

Fully Managed or Co-Managed: Whether your bank relies on one stretched IT officer or has its own IT team, we can run your IT or work alongside your staff to add depth, security monitoring, and coverage.

One Partner Who Owns the Problem: When a branch goes down, you shouldn't be the go-between. We coordinate with your carrier and other technology vendors so you get answers, not finger-pointing.

A Team You Can Vet: Every TTechT technician, and our founder, is background-checked and CJIS security-trained. We provide the vendor documentation your due diligence process requests.

Security Leadership You Can Check: Our founder, Lisa Niekamp-Urwin, wrote Sitting Duck: Why Your Business Is a Cybercriminal's Ideal Target and is past president of InfraGard Toledo.

Local and Woman-Owned: We're based in St. Henry, with an office in Fort Wayne and team members in Lima and Dayton. Recognized with a 2024 MSP Titans of the Industry Award (Women Owned/Led) and by the Lima Chamber as a Women-Owned Business.

Resources for Community Banks

Practical answers on exam preparation, switching providers, and what to look for in an IT partner.

Service And Support You Can Count On

In 2017, our remote IT guy retired, making us search for a local IT company. We choose Tomorrow's Technology Today. The single biggest benefit our company experienced is the ability to concentrate on selling and serving insurance rather than dealing with our technology and computer issues.

Community Bank IT: Frequently Asked Questions

What does a managed IT provider do for a community bank?

A managed IT provider keeps your bank's workstations, branch connections, email, and security running, monitored, and backed up. For a bank, that also means keeping the reports auditors and examiners ask for, such as patch and backup reports, current all year instead of assembling them before an exam.

What do regulators expect from a bank's information security program?

Under the Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards, a bank's board must approve its written information security program, and management must report to the board at least annually on the program's status (source). We help with the technology side and the evidence; your obligations are a question for your compliance team and counsel.

Does a bank have to report a cyber incident to its regulator?

Yes. Since May 2022, a bank must notify its primary federal regulator no later than 36 hours after determining a significant computer-security incident has occurred. Bank service providers must notify affected banks when an incident disrupts services for four or more hours (source). Fast detection and a tested response plan make that deadline manageable.

What should a bank expect when vetting its IT provider as a third party?

The 2023 interagency guidance expects banks to keep an inventory of third-party relationships, identify critical activities, and review risk over time, scaled to the bank's size and complexity (source). We provide the vendor documentation your due diligence process requests.

What replaced the FFIEC Cybersecurity Assessment Tool?

The FFIEC retired the CAT on August 31, 2025, and pointed institutions to resources including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 and CISA's Cybersecurity Performance Goals (source). We can help you map your technology controls to the framework your bank chooses.

Can you work alongside our internal IT staff?

Yes. For banks with their own IT team, co-managed IT adds depth, security monitoring, and coverage for vacations and busy seasons, so your bank doesn't depend on one person.

Do you manage our core banking system?

No. Your core processor manages the core. We support the technology around it, including workstations, branch networks, email, and security. When something breaks, we work with your core vendor and carrier for you. The first hour of that coordination is included, and if it runs longer, we regroup with you on next steps.

Can you help with our cyber insurance application?

Yes. We help banks complete cyber insurance applications and security questionnaires accurately, based on the security actually in place. Because our insurance partner's program is built around our security services, clients who stay with us may also qualify for a discounted cyber liability policy, with coverage designed so your bank and your IT provider are insured under the same program.

How do we switch IT providers without disrupting our branches?

Plan the switch with a dedicated project manager and a firm cutover date. Our Great Start onboarding runs about 10 weeks, and we coordinate directly with your current provider so systems, accounts, and passwords transfer cleanly. We can time the cutover around exams and busy periods.

How quickly will someone answer when we call?

During the business day, a technician answers the phone live. After hours, our answering service reaches a technician for urgent issues. Guaranteed response times for critical issues depend on your service level.

How much does managed IT cost for a community bank?

Most banks invest $175–$350 per user per month, depending on the number of users, branches, and the level of security and support.

What areas do you serve?

We support community banks across Northwest Ohio and Northeast Indiana, including St. Henry, Celina, Minster, Fort Loramie, Anna, Botkins, Wapakoneta, Lima, Van Wert, Findlay, Sidney, Piqua, Troy, Tipp City, and Dayton, Ohio, and Fort Wayne and Richmond, Indiana.
